Summer on Nantucket can be a hectic time. In all of the seasonal hustle and bustle, it is not uncommon to find oneself too busy to kick back, relax, and take in a movie.
In response to overwhelming demand, the Nantucket Historical Association is proud to add an additional screening of its new gateway film Nantucket on Monday evenings in September. Join us for these special fall evening screenings and enjoy the latest film by Emmy-winning filmmaker Ric Burns, made exclusively for the NHA. Showcasing the island's natural beauty and its significant role in global history, our 51-minute documentary is a feast for the eyes, offering a transformative experience for islanders and visitors alike. Both educational and entertaining, the film transfixes viewers with narration by local Nantucket scholars and residents, including award-winning author Nathaniel Philbrick.
The film shows on Monday September 12, 19, and 26, at 7 p.m. at the Whaling Museum, 13 Broad Street. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the movie are free for NHA members, $10 for nonmember adults, and $5 for nonmember youth.
